This photo belongs to Mrs Tuckwood and shows her grandparents and mother stood in front of the old railway carriage bungalow. Her grandparents were called Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kirton. Mrs Tuckwood’s mother’s married name was also Kirton. As can be seen from the newspaper cutting, Mr.Joseph Kirton was licencee of the White Swan public house for 20 years and also the village carrier. We believe that Mr.Kirton was licensee during the 1920s and that he died in the late 1940s.

Mr. and Mrs. Kirton's daughter in the photo (Mrs. Tuckwood's mother and the daughter named in Mr.Kirton's Obituary) was also named Mrs. Kirton as she married a man named Kirton. He appears in the photo of the lime quarry.
